The Adorable Luke Power and his LOEWS National Commercial!

I tell everybody what a great “job” I have. I get so much out of these young actors living their dream.  Sometimes the dream is to feel better about themselves, not be so shy or to de-stress.  And of course, it may be to become a professional actor.

Here is Luke Power living the dream of being a professional actor! Way to go LUKE!!

When the Audition is Out of Your Hands.

I was recently taping an audition of my student Matt for a movie. I noticed that I had to adjust the camera from our last taping and I couldn’t understand why.  When his Mom picked him up I laughed and said, “he’s gigantic” We laughed it off and she left.

On Monday Matt got a call to screen test for the movie in Canada. The producers saw his tape and loved him!! Not surprising, everyone loves Matt.  He has what it takes. He’s gorgeous, charismatic and a great actor. When he walks in a room, he owns the room.

As soon as his family got he call, the preparations began.  Matt continued to work on the scene. That’s what professionals do. They never stop working.  Matt arrived in Canada prepared and ready to work.

First stop; the studio to work with the director.  The director and producer were thrilled and ready to get to work.  Within about an hour, the producer came out of the room and asked his mom “How tall is Matt?”

Matt had grown 2 inches in a little over a month.  He was now taller than the actress cast to play his sister  This created a  problem. They called in another sister, but no good. The chemistry wasn’t there.  Over the next 24 hours it became clear that Matt was too “old” for the part with his new growth spirt.

Matt did everything right. He nailed the audition; he charmed everyone on set; he was prepared and ready to work.  But sometimes the audition is out of your hands.

It was close, but he missed it by 2 inches…

Matt isn’t letting this get in his way, he’s on his way here now to get taped for another movie!!Matt Larre in Canada
